I Thought I Had ADHD — It Was Actually My Gut and Sugar Intake

There's more research now than ever connecting gut health to how we actually feel day to day, not just digestion, but energy, mood, and focus. I've watched that research grow, but honestly, what convinced me wasn't a study. It was my own life.

For a long time, I thought I had ADHD. Trouble focusing, low motivation, energy that would crash hard by mid-afternoon. It wasn't until I started paying real attention to what I was eating, especially how much sugar was actually in my daily diet, that things started to shift.

Since then, a lot has changed: more stable energy through the day, better focus, fewer cravings pulling at me by the afternoon.

One thing shifted this more than anything else: cutting back on sugar.

When I first tried, the thing that hit me hardest wasn't the craving, it was realizing how much sugar is actually in everything. Once you start reading labels, really reading them, you notice it everywhere, and usually in far higher amounts than you'd expect. I'd genuinely encourage you to try it yourself next time you're at the supermarket. Just look. It changes how you shop.

The other piece of this that matters just as much: routine. Not a dramatic overhaul, just consistency, small habits repeated daily are what actually accumulate into real results over time.

For me, it comes down to one question I ask about everything I put in my body, food, snacks, supplements: does this support my daily performance and my wellbeing, or is it just serving pleasure in the moment? Not that pleasure is wrong, but I've learned to ask the question, and to build my daily choices around wellbeing first.

That mindset is really what GutLite comes from.
